Arup Kumar Dutta is a full-time author and freelance journalist who has been acknowledged as a pioneer in English writing from the Northeast. In an authorial career spanning half a century, he has written short fiction, long fiction, non-fiction, newspaper editorials and satirical pieces for adults, and adventure novels for younger readers. His awards and honours include the Shankar’s Award, Journalist Welfare Foundation Award, Kamal Kumari National Award, Lifetime Achievement Honour by AWIC, New Delhi, DLitt.
