Rituparna Neog is a prominent queer rights activist from Assam. She is also a poet, storyteller and development sector worker. With a Master’s in Social Work from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Guwahati, Rituparna has focused her work on gender justice and education. She currently serves as Associate Vice Chairperson of the State Transgender Welfare Board, Government of Assam, and as the North East Member Representative to the National Council of Transgender Persons, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.
Rituparna’s poetry and prose explore the joys and struggles of being queer, reflecting on societal challenges and the power of collective spaces. She is passionate about addressing social issues through children’s literature and enjoys reading stories to both children and adults alike.
