Anish Gawande is a writer and translator currently serving as the National Spokesperson for the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar).
With a bachelor’s degree in comparative literature from Columbia University and postgraduate degrees in intellectual history and public policy from the University of Oxford, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar, Anish has written for many prestigious publications. He has also been a panellist on major news channels, both in India and internationally.
A passionate advocate for equal rights, Anish is the founder and curator of Pink List India, the country’s first archive of politicians supporting LGBTQ+ rights. He is a Human Rights Campaign Global Innovation Fellow, a partner at Horniman Circle Advisory, a board member of Youth Feed India, a mentor for the Times of India’s student edition, and the director of the Dara Shikoh Fellowship. Anish’s work has earned him recognition as one of GQ’s 50 Most Influential Young Indians, won him a SAJA journalism award and has seen him named as a GQ Champion of Change.
